The Nomophobia.com team
We are a group of close friends who spend most of our time making a living in other professions. Why do we do this? Well, it's something that interests us personally, it can be fun and it's interesting to try to grow a community.
The Editorial Staff
The Nomophobia team has a core group of people who spend the most time moderating or building or writing. They are:
Somebody somewhere something otherwise also beset besides between beds bells balls.
FOUNDER & EDITOR-IN-CHIEF
Patrick has years of experience using an actual mobile phone while doing his grown-up job as a public relations and media relations consultant. He is the brains behind the site and protects the principles of nomophobia.com.
Nomophobic rating: Low to Mild (suspiciously self-diagnosed)
Mobile factbit: doesn't realise that he shouts words when talking to friends on Facetime... "YES, HOW ARE YOU??"
Founder, Consultant Editor
Ruth has countless years of experience working with print and digital media in her capacity as a senior public relations consultant in London and around the UK. Together with Patrick, she is the original Founder of nomophobia.com and is very much the moral conscience for the team. Which is perfect because she's really, really nice.
Nomophobic level: very mild indeed
Mobile Factbit: often observed perusing bargains in Argus on her iPad
Technical Editor & Ex-nomoskeptic
Conor was the original nomophobia doubter when Patrick and Ruth first mentioned it years ago. But his 'Chief Brody' moment changed everything. It was shortly after that Conor and his team—using their years working in the software industry—designed and built the nomophobia.com site.
Nomophobic level: Chronic (oh God, totally!)
Mobile factbit: Nobody knows (til now obviously) that the work phone Conor took this shot with, while kayaking one evening on the Liffey, promptly slipped from his hands into the depths of the river immediately after getting the shot away over email. Snap, send, splash.
We all have mobile devices. We all have nomophobia? We're not sure but we've got a bucket-load of people who will be contributing pieces to nomophobia.com. We'll list them here as their material is published.
